Never exceed 8 hours.
Change every 4–8 hours, or sooner if needed.
Choose the lowest absorbency.
Use only during your period.
Plan for sleep.
Use another product if you may sleep longer than 8 hours.
Stop if something feels wrong.
Remove it if you have pain or an unexpected reaction.
Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is rare but serious. Sudden fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness or a sunburn-like rash can be warning signs. Remove the tampon and seek urgent medical help if these occur. Read the FDA safety guidance.

Use the removal directions in your product leaflet. Wrap the tampon and applicator, then place them in a rubbish bin. Do not flush. If you cannot remove a tampon, seek medical help.

Does it hurt to use a tampon?
If insertion or wearing a tampon hurts, stop and remove it. Do not force it. Speak with a healthcare professional if discomfort continues.
Can I wear a tampon overnight?
Do not exceed 8 hours. If you may sleep longer, choose another period product.
Can I exercise or swim?
Read the instructions supplied with your tampon and change it as needed, within the recommended wear time.
